...from one of my favorite periods, the mid-to-late 90's when Ae struck a beautiful and intriguing balance between experimentation and good old groove. Sometimes stark, sometimes funky, and always interesting. The review above is right, this could be an LP. Solid. Mind expanding. Rpeg is one of the funkiest jams I have ever heard. Ccec is dissected hip hop analyzed by aliens, Outpt is simultaneously punishing and comforting, Zeiss Contarex is a STONE COLD GROOVE, and Pir is so pretty it hurts. These guys never fall victim to any of the cliches of electronic music.
