I love this band, and have all of their albums, and I just got this. Love it - is a really great collection...more diverse and upbeat than some of their previous collections, and they really seem in a groove. If you like celtic/folk this is one of the best bands and collections.

Just saw them (TWICE) at the Milwaukee Irish Fest last month and got to meet them at a CD signing afterwards. Genuinely NICE people who thanked me for being there and listening to the music. I swear Seamus Egan could make good music with just a stick, a rubber band and a rock. Mairead Phelan is a great addition and contributes sweet vocals and harmonies. Winifred Horan's fiddling is awesome as ever! Even more so live! They're all just amazing musicians whether they are playing traditional tunes or reinterpreting something you'd never think of like Ricky Lee Jones' "Sailor Song" This album shows that they're at the top of their game. Don't miss "There is a Time" (My other favorite version of this is The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), "Seven Curses" and "Vital Mental Medicine". By the way - Good ear! That IS the Duhks...

I recently got to see Solas at a music festival in Virginia, and they were truly great live! This is another fun, thoroughly enjoyable album of traditional and new irish folk tunes. If you like good toe-tapping irish music, then Solas is a perfect fit. Once again, the talents of Winifred Horan are on great display. With a new vocalist, things sound slightly different, but all of the songs are delightful! I can't wait to see another Solas concert!

Just gave this new album a listen on my way into work this morning and I'm loving it. I'm a fan of all the Solas lineups since the beginning and have been lucky enough to hear each one of them live. I ::really:: like Mairead Phelan though. Beautiful voice and she really just fits the band. I hope she sticks around for a while. Favorite tracks on first listen are Merry Go Round and The Gallant Hussar. Still trying to figure out who the second voice is on Merry Go Round. Is that the Duhks? Dang the lack of liner notes on digital downloads! Love it... keep up the good music. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks in Leesburg, VA.
