Listening is like touring an art gallery, each song with its own power and unique setting. Jason and Thugs are favorites. The band's usual quirkiness takes a back seat among these fully realized shots of brilliance.

To many songs to mentioned, in a way, with expanded editions and extras, sometimes, to me that kinda of ruins the actual album as it was meant. But anyways, this is my favorite XTC album, and I love drums and wires and Black Sea. Just saw special about them on axe tv, was cool, check it out.

Love, love, love it! Brings back memories of sitting around our college apartment in Denton, Texas listening to XTC. Such great memories....

English Settlement: commentary on settling-in and fear of complacency, XTC had found themselves and documented every pain and particular in the process. Worth checking out everything that lead up to this bit of brilliance. Nothing else like it!

this to me is quintessential xtc: pop genius hooks, acoustic and electric guitars, great drums, thoughtful lyrics. if you buy one xtc album, make it this one...
