  • A great effort from Wilder, but....

I may be a little annoyed by the reviewer stating that Wilder's project being a more viable endeavor than latter day Depeche Mode. First off, you must account for the fact that DM is first and foremost an alternative group which nonetheless must be commercial to a certain degree. Second, Recoil was originally Wilder's outlet for the frustration he felt of alway having to work in a pop format in his days in Depeche Mode. This will always be an avant-garde venture, and not a chart topper. Nonetheless, this is not an attack on Wilder or his work. It is a solid album without pretentious labeling some artist gain after going solo for one reason or another. Incubus is a great track missing from his greatest hits collection. Red River Cargo is great as well, glad to see Wilder added it to his tour setlist, which by the way am glad to say thank you for your planned stop over in Santa Ana later this month. Hope to him and Martin there.
