I'm on 'The Groove Line' hard right now. Funky good music. I was also glad to see all the love for the Star of a Story in the reviews. Most people (even OBG people) don't know much about that song. I know the original is always the best but there's an artist named Grenique that does an amazing and magical version of it.
Heatwave? Now THATS A BAND!

Jazz, funk, fusion, slow, fast, dance and a heck of a party anthem; you name it this album has it! One of the best albums ever recorded, it really helped me to appreciate musical diversity. Not to knock the great George Benson but Heatwave's Star of the Story is superior; smooth vocals and calming harmonies made it a real live-on-forever song. This album single handedly stepped the music game, made disco cool and introduced us 70s funksters to jazz and how cool it could be. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

There has never been a more eerily beautiful ballad than Star of a Story. From those spooky pretty strings at the top to the charming and seductive vocal arrangement at the end, it's a master-piece of music for Heatwave. I can listen on repeat and the beauty does not fade. I love so well. <3

The best Rod Temperton penned dance track NOT performed by Michael Jackson. It changed all dance music from that point forward!

This takes me back to a time in my life when I was 100% carefree, (9th grade in HS). I can remember carrying the big "Boom Box" to school, Heatwave was a staple of the local radio station (WDAS 105.3).This is when music was melodic and harmonious, simple yet heartfelt, smooth and funky all at the same time. In my opinion, Heatwave is one of the greatest R&B groups ever, classy and classic.
Star of a Story

Only my opinion. Star of a Story is still the best slow jam of all times. Last year, while driving with the misses the George Benson version came on the radio. She said she really like the song, I then informed her that it was a remake from Heatwave. Could you believe that she didn't care for the original version. I like GB remake, but nothing can compare to the original.
Spence,
More heat please!!!

Central heating was a very good piece of work in it's day, but we now have digital processing so please remaster this disco duck.

"Star of a story", is the gem here. "This night we fell", was on the 'Hot Property" album which should also be here.
