Drumming helps me with middle of the night ping-pong brain. Somehow this soothes my brain and turns down the volume on racing thoughts that keep me awake. I would’ve given it 5 stars for it’s effectiveness, but I would’ve preferred not to have to buy the whole album.

Some of us only want/need specific files. I only want a 30 minute drumming, buyable for $3 or less. Why are all the drummings on US iTunes "album only?" I don't have credit for $9 (I live overseas) nor do I want the entire album (right now). Very frustrating. Looking for ONE 30 minute drumming, and still can't buy it. Otherwise this sounds great. Better than most of the other on iTunes.

I highly recommend this album to anyone interested in shamanic journeying. The driving beat, rich acoustics and overtone harmonics readily induce the altered states necessary for making shamanic journeys. The companion book The Shamanic Drum is also recommended reading.

Wow, I purchased this after meeting a friend a long the path who gave a book on Animal wisdom after he had seen my carved owl plugs. And since then I have explored journeying. This album was great through my Qc3's, but when I played it through my JBL 6" studio montiors in my home studio, WOW!!!THE TONE!! after 7 min I had to stop it the fullness and vibrations were overwhelming. As an musician and appreciator of music you can feel Well done Michael Drake!!!

The sound quality is deep and resonant, with a mixture of solo drumming and solo drumming with a rattle accompanying. I would have given it five stars, because this is a five star album, but I thought it was a little greedy to have it "Album Only." If I wanted the entire album, I would buy the entire album. In this case, I have to, so. Three stars.
