Getting Killed

This album is awesome. They're so young! Their creativity absolutely oozes out in each track of the record. I'd been avoiding Geese after getting a quick listen of Winter's voice, but I got used to it. This is the first record I've ever heard from the band and the three singles from this record delivered, especially "Taxes." I was floored listening to the record in its entireity, including the last track. As a bassist, phew. I gotta stay in the shed. I'm excited to hear what they do next. I'm going to listen to this record a few more times now.

The melodies in the song would work better as background music in a film, but without the singer’s incessant grating voice.

There are noticeable elements of prior legends, Bow Down sounds like it was produced by Bono, and reasonably good musicianship throughout the album. But the thing I like best about Getting Killed is that it was made by humans who are trying, and maybe succeeding, to connect with a disappointed generation who are constantly subjected to conflicting points of view, decisiveness, and ultimately, disappointment. There’s zero in its tone that’s uplifting about this album, but it is a good reflection of our times.

Anyone with out talent & a little money to buy recording equipment for a computer can get their noise put out! We need a return of real recording artists!
