Blissful Melancholy

From heartbreak to the burdens of addiction, this album gives you a glimpse into the life of an average person growing up in fly over country. The sound of the album can be very hard to describe. It’s full of melancholy, yet the steel guitar gives it a warm feeling of happiness. Like a shot of whiskey on a cold winter night, it warms you up but it’s still cold. I’m not sure if this was Colter Wall’s intention. I’ve just found this album to be very relatable to the community that I grew up in. If you could only listen to one song on the album I’d recommend Codeine Dream.
