Foundation of metalcore? Really?

So because I don’t like this very generic slice of metalcore, I don’t like metal at all? Do you also think that Beneath the Encasing of Ashes is a masterwork too? There were plenty of metalcore albums like this out at the time, and most of them were better than this. For instance, An Ocean Between Us was released the same year and is very very good. The production on this on the other hand just stinks, being so loud it hurts to listen to. The material is so bland and uninteresting that it’s utterly boring to listen to. An album in this vein but better done is Becoming the Archetype’s Terminate Damnation, which has the same producer as this album but much better music. Have you ever heard of Killswitch Engage? They and In Flames provided the real foundations of metalcore not this. Get your history right.
IMO!!

I first heard this album in 2008 and every few years it pops up randomly in my head which brings me back to listen to its entirety. In my opinion this is one of the best albums this band has produced, the songs are near perfect and with good quality headphones you can’t go wrong with this album.
Maybe their best album

I completely disagree with the negative reviews on this album. Every single song on this album is so good, and they are constantly in my head all the time. God bless these guys, and I’m really hoping in 2027 they re-record the entire album cuz that’d be wicked sweet 👍
Foundation of metal core album

People giving this a bad review don’t realize nothing was out like this at the time. Yeah it’s production isn’t great but it was their first big album that blew them up. If you don’t like this album you ain’t a metal core fan or a fan of ABR.
Better than Trivium

The technicality and craftmanship of this album far surpasses anyone in metalcore
