The problem with this album is summed up by track 6, "Ava." The opening few minutes of "Ava" are as thrilling as anything Byrne has written; the last half or so of it, featuring some fairly awful vocal samples played on a keyboard, are about as cringe-worthy as his post Talking Heads career got. That's pretty much the story with the rest of the album--some really good musical ideas and some halfway good execution. --Oh, and yes, the album title is "The Forest" and has nothing to do with Mr. Gump...
