This album is a statement for a generation of students who were truly blessed to have grown up in a wonderfully mixed musical environment.
Folk music was a small part of what would prove to be a road to all kinds of music. My girlfriend was lucky enough to experience a Tom Rush concert at her school and than buy me the album which I instantly loved and continue to love.
Dang ...

Tom Rush-A lovely voice, A good man,

I was lucky, I heard some of Tom's songs when his earliest works were released, I was in High School and my bandmate made sure that I paid attention.
What a beautiful voice he has, coupled with a timing to his phrasings that is so compelling, a thing that can not be taught, it comes from within.
By the time I was a sophomore in college, Ohio University 1970, I owned all of his recorded works. Then I found out that he was coming to OU to play. We sat on the floor of a small room in the Student Union. Tom and his bandmates stood at the front of the same floor (no stage) and entertained us in his own way. It was a wonderful night in 1970. I never got up the nerve to go and talk to him and tell him how much I appreciated his work.
Somewhere in the 1980’s Tom played his guitar and sang, with no backup, at a small restaurant in Columbus, Ohio which was where I lived. Of course I was in attendance, and I overcame my nerves and found him on a break and told him how important his music was to me.
If you don’t know much about Tom, start with his self titled album: “Tom Rush", and then his album: “Wrong end of the Rainbow”.
These 2 albums will reach out and touch you. Then go look for his other albums. He is a treasure.
Stunning

I received a reel-to-reel tape from my brother in 1970 with this album. The first song was "Driving Wheel." I was absolutely stunned. I still feel that everything in the world stops when I put that song on. Tom Rush at his best with material from songwriters who had not yet recorded their own work: J Taylor, J Mitchell, J Browne. This album is part of my soul.
Great Music

The main review is actually describing Tom Rush' 1965 Elektra debut, not this, his Columbia debut from 1970.

This IS a tremendous album. Only problem: iTunes doesn't have one of the best songs by Tom Rush: "These Days." It includes all the albums that ever had the song but not the song itself! What happened?!
