Good evolution

I kept buying one track at a time because I was hesitate based on the reviews, but I like each song more and more so I just bought the whole album. Sorry but those negative reviews are because people don't like to see bands evolve or change. This is some very good fun stuff.
Personally I love TI’s Evolution

i love old TI
As someone who typically loves a more eccentric sound yet equally feels the magnetism to dance my personal zenith is when an artist is both
Loser is probably the best song in the past decade.
I say this as someone who worked for a record label for a decade and as it has been exposed to a ton of music
Kevin Parker is a total genius. Let him expand you

confessional, experimental, trancy, prog rocking, technical, complex, simplistic. all these things. you have to give an ALBUM a right good listen then assess, not give first impressions. humanity is getting dumber. kevin always makes sure you can every lyric through the varied noises. beautiful poetry and cynical humor make for a great narrative. 4.75 stars rounds up to 5.
Level-ups for Kevin & Friends

Some great tracks in here; what a talented dude who knows the soul in patterns and math. The productiion range -- from dirty indie style to polished major-label electronic style -- is sublime as it sits upon that vintage Tame Impala scaffolding. Saw the live show and the whole band has it wired, too!
Missed the mark with this one....

longtime Tame Impala and KP fan from inception .... to date, each release seemed to get tighter and tighter with synth dreamy landscapes, the pinnacle (to me) being the full on story-telling cohesiveness that was THE SLOW RUSH .... then nearly 5 years of soundtrack songs, collaborations and writing with other performers, i was skeptical that the full cohesiveness of another dreamscape would be able to continue with a new full release. From the first 30 seconds of "End of Summer" , I knew I was right to be skeptical. :-( ... instantaniously put-off by the industrial techno beats, I lost hope immediately that we would be getting back to TI's usual dreamy, synth based roots. Other songs like Dracula and Loser reel in the techno sound a bit , and feel a bit more "familiar" and WARM and welcoming --the rest of the release feels like a mish-mosh of the two "styles" (dreamy-synths and new techno-drums) with HP's vocal harmonizing layers smotthing out the differences. The problem for me is, it doesn't DRAW ME IN and make me crave more like The Slow Rush songs did .... I miss that feeling. So look like I waited 5 years for just 3 or 4 songs in this release that I will regularly go back to with enthusiasm. A little bummed out and dissapointed with this one. See ya in 2030 Kevin! ;-)

Mixed Reviews

I found myself enjoying most of this album. It’s not without its flaws but I also understand Kevin is leaning into more house/electronic. Which is fine by me. Mixed reviews are expected. Ppl are torn because they want the psychedelic TI. I applaud him taking the risk. Fun album in my opinion but not for everyone
Beatles Boy

This is an amazing album that sounds like John Lennon conjured. Buy it. Listen. “No Reply” was literally the title of a Beatles song. Kevin’s “No Reply” is the best song on this album.
