Lil Durk has been a good rapper in the gangster and plug genre ever since 2015’s Remember My Name. He definitely took a more emotional approach than most of his other albums. this album is full of songs about his childhood and how he compares now which is similar to his other albums. He has always had the emotional hood style but that applies to this album the most.
My personal favorite song off the album is Untouchable because I love the mix of gangster, rage, synthetic music. When I say rage I mean the synthy sound of the song.
To be honest though, Lil Durk in my opinion was never really a standout rapper in the genre. He’s a good rapper however his music is fairly average in the rap world. This comes from the song writing and beat selection. A lot of this album has the same piano type beats and gangster flow. You don’t really see lil durk experimenting with the music he makes.
In my opinion the album is a little boring and is mid. I do like the storytelling tho.
